PureBasic v4.00 - Beta 2

Post by Fred »

Hi there,

Here is the second release of the v4.00 serie. All the bugs marked as fixed in the forums should have been corrected, please report if it's not the case. The Library SDK documentation and Lcc examples have been updated, so you can give a try to the new system management for libraries. A small changelog:

Code: Select all

 - removed #SizeOf_Word, #SizeOf_Byte, ... use SizeOf(Byte), SizeOf(Word) instead
 - added: constants for the network events:
    #PB_NetworkEvent_Connect
    #PB_NetworkEvent_Data
    #PB_NetworkEvent_File
    #PB_NetworkEvent_Disconnect
 - renamed #PB_Gadget_GreyTextColor to #PB_Gadget_GrayTextColor
The ReadMe.html has been updated as well. Thanks all for the very good testing and feedback, it helps a lot !

The Fantaisie Software Team.

Great work as usual. =)) *Run and checks out..* =p

Something tiny:
Menu -> Help -> About
"PureBasic, all the provided tools and components
are copyrighted (c) 2005 by Fantaisie Software
"

Shouldn't there be 2005 / 2006 ? =p

Nope, It should read

"PureBasic, all the provided tools and components
are copyrighted © 2000 by Fantaisie Software
"

Notice the copyright sign, and the actual date should be the date when PureBasic was very first published. Thus according to the PB Helpfile ... 10/22/2000 :)

See http://www.copyright.gov for more information.

In particular ...

http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-g ... l#register
http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-g ... ml#poorman
http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-d ... tml#notice

All copyright records of PureBasic can be found@ http://www.copyright.gov/records/cohm.html

For example, go there and type "Mirage Online" (my product), and you will get the following:

(Combined Search)
Search For: TITL/MIRAGE ONLINE
Item 1 of 1
1. Registration Number: TX-5-826-689
Title: FrmCredits.
Description: Computer program.
Note: Printout only deposited.
Claimant: acUnformed Realities
Created: 2001
Published: 1Nov01
Registered: 5Sep03
Title on © Application: Mirage online.

Also wrong. According to my intellectual property lawyer it should read:
PureBasic and all the provided tools and components
are copyrighted © 2000 - 2006 by Fantaisie Software
The publication date of version 4 is 2006.
All copyright records of PureBasic can be found@ http://www.copyright.gov/records/cohm.html
This assumes PureBasic was registered in the United States.

Interesting :) Mine said the otherwise which pointed to the exact answers on the copyright.gov website . Oh well. The thing is though, it's not the version release date, but the product's first release date .. either way, it would cover the bases, eh?

Good stuff Fred you seem to be squashing bugs quickly.

Just thought I'd let you know the new alpha PNG stuff is working well - no bugs there! :D

I would consider changing that sentence to:
"PureBasic: all the tools and components provided are copyrighted..."
