Editor doesn´t start any more

Post by Trollinger »

Hello everyone,

after updating to Purebasic 3.94d, the Editor doesn´t start any more and freezes during startup process and I have to kill the process. I suspect the preferences to cause the problem. Where does Purebasic for Mac OS save its preferences ? Is there a possibility to reset them to their default values ?

Thanks in advance

System: G5 Mac, OSX 10.3.9, 2 GB Ram, Purebasic 3.94d
Mac OS X 10.3.9
PureBasic 3.93 Beta 3

The IDE saves its setings in the User directory in a subdirectory called ".purebasic" (its hidden)
Just delete this directory and the IDE will automatically use all defaults on the next start.

Hi Trollinger,

normaly the prefs are saved in "user/library/preferences/" (hope, the path is correct :) )

But try the following:
use search-function from finder and use the option "visible and unvisible" and search to "purebasic". Then you will get all pb-files, also the unvisible .plist and so on. Put the prefs and .plist into the trash, deplete the trash and restart the system. So all the prefs are cleaned in a saver way. Then start pb and you have an environment like a newborn :D

Hope it helps.

Thank you for your answers ! Deleting the file ".purebasic.prefs" in my homedir has solved the problem. IDE is starting up again and ready to go :)
