Purebasic for Teams

Post by Nik »

Is it legal to use one Purebasic copy for more than one person if they work together in a team(actually 2 persons), I suppose not, what's right :?:

It is a user based licence, 2 people = 2 licenses.

Yes, PB is an user based license, you can install it on every computers you need but you can't share it between 2 or more people.

If he recognizes the coolness of PureBasic he should be willing to buy his own license. We're also 2 people at our team and my partner has just bought PureBasic today after he played with the demo and read the changelog for 4.0

I know it took a long time, but now I have paid for 2 liscences so I can give one to my Team meber, right Fred? I will probably also donate a bit when 4.0 goes final reward the time we used 2 Liscences for 3 people, sorry again Pb is great so I'm happy to pay it now I that I know its strengths.

1. There is probably a fee because his original bank account is in germany.
2. He used to do online banking but he doesn't have a laptop with him.(He has access to computers though)

I always wondered about that Fred!
How easy (or not) is it to buy someone else a copy of PB?

Will the byer end up with the "license" or is it possible to pay
but give the license to someone else?

Some time in the (distant so far but...) I may end up with a small team,
and it would be nice to be able to somewhat easily to just purchase
a copy for each member, pay, and have them receive the license/email etc.

PureBasic is affordable enough that a "company" should have no issue giving a license as a gift to their "employee", which would also be a nice way to show the appreciacion for the employee.
(and obviously encourage "outside-work" programming training as well :P

It's so long since I baught my license that I can't really recall the options/choice at purchase of PB.

A proper "gift" option is really needed if this does not exist allready!

An business with employees option, perhaps, as employees can come and go. Eg, 5 licences for XYZ company which has 5 programmers, this year A B C D E, next year A B C E F (D having left, the dirty swine!).

Nah, let the employee keep the license, consider it a bonus, or incentive to stay.
Or Fringe benefit.
