Split Bug Report Section !?

Post by va!n »

When taking a look to the latest bug report section, i get a bit wired becuase reading mostly only 3.93 and dont knowing on what system the bugs are.

So what do you think about splitting the bug report section into something like:

Code: Select all

Bug Reports:
  - Windows
  - Linux
  - Amiga
  - Macintosh
I can still live with the stuff as it it. Its just only an idea...[/code]

Why not, but adding 4 sections will bloat the forum main page, what the others are thinking about this ? May be we could put the OS in the report title like [Windows] - ... The version isn't needed IMHO as every bug report have to use the last version (except when beta are involved).

What about this idea:
If You specify every bug needs a specific format, eg "[OS] text", and then have a posibility to apply a filter using a combobox on top of the bug section?

I thought PHPBB supported sub forums? I'm sure it did the last time I tested it.

i like the ideas with the combobox and the child sections! i still think child sections would give the user a better overview!?

here is just an basic idea...

Code: Select all

General
- Beginners
- Game Programming
- The PureBasic Editor
- General Discussion
- Tricks 'n' Tips

Windows
- Feature Requests And Wishlists
- Bug Reports

Linux
- Feature Requests And Wishlists
- Bug Reports

Amiga
- Feature Requests And Wishlists
- Bug Reports

Macintosh
- Feature Requests And Wishlists
- Bug Reports

Miscellaneous
- Announcement
- Off Topic
again just an idea...

I don't see any option to create child section or child forums with phpBB. Can someone point me in the right direction ?
