GeoTrail ScreenGrabber

Post by GeoTrail »

Ok, here it is. The long awaited program. *LOL*

Nahm just kidding.

Anyways, it's called ScreenGrabber. All it really does it take screenshots of your desktop. I'm adding more features soon, but remember that the whole idea of the program was to keep it small, simple and easy to use. That is why I wrote the program. And offcourse, also to practice PB coding ;)

Download ScreenGrabber here:
RAR format | ZIP format

Please, post your comments, bugs and suggestions on improvements here. But remember, the idea is to keep the program small and simple.

Updated:
I have now added userdefined compression level for the captured image. Default it is set to level 8 where 10 is best quality and 0 is best compression.

Updated:
I've moved the files to my norwegian server since the other server is currently unavailable.

I have updated the program now, added userdefined compression level and can now be downloaded in both rar and zip format archive.

Comments and suggestions would be great.

Like you said GeoTrail, short and simple. It's handy for the quickies :)

The one I'm working on will take snapshots of all open windows, visible or not. It only supports NT/2000/XP right now but I might be able to do 98/ME if I can ever figure out a smooth & clean way of doing so. :?

Sounds cool Sparkie.
Maybe you could help me with adding a feature to capture active windows too?
I don't need/want too advanced stuff, just want to keep it simple so you don't need to worry about this being a competetor to yours hehehe ;)

Sure thing. Just give me another day or two and I'll post a link for a small sample of my app. Run it, and if it suits your needs, I'll get you pointed in the right direction. :)

Tray work is very important.. at least to me. Having apps running that
are non-cluttering, are a good thing.

@Sparkie, sound great. Looking forward to checking it out :)

@Noah, yeah I agree there. I have used lots of different screencapture programs in my time but they all seemed way to bulky and had way to many features than I needed so I think this is perfect for me. There's just a few more things I need to add and it'll be my dream screen grabbing program. And having written it myself and getting good comments like this is a big spirit uplifter too. Makes me want to write more cool apps ;)

Ok GeoTrail, here's a zip with a little sample of what I'm working on. It's not fully functional, and the GUI was thrown together, but it should give you a look at what's possible.

Sadly, I also discovered that this only works on XP and Server 2003. I'm still working on a way to support 98/NT/2000. I'll keep you posted. :)
