What happened to Spangly's site?

Post by PB »

http://spangly.purebasic.org :?: I liked using PPBuild, but it's gone...
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

He took it down because he lost his whole hard drive (and source to all his projects) and I lost purebasic.org because I'm an idiot! I've been working with a lawyer trying to get thedomain back but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to with the limited amount of money I have to spend on it.

If the domain was expired then it's up for grabs fair and square :) A lawyer wouldnt be able to do squat.

It is painfully obvious that the a$$ who took the domain is a CyberSquatter and does not intend to use it, only to sell the domain name. I hope you get it back somehow Karbon.

Not at all... There are all sorts of copyright issues but it isn't worth it to fork out the money it would take to make it happen, though..

Does anyone have a copy of PBBuild they wouldn't mind sending me or uploading somewhere? I've been writing my own front-end which is nearly finished but if Spanglys program does everything i need then that'll save a bit of time  Thanks!

Here (for 7 days or X downloads, whatever happens first. Not sure what X is).
Maybe someone else can host it permanently? Thanks. (On this subject,
does anyone know of any free online "briefcases"? I used to use Yahoo but
they don't let you allow public access to them anymore).

I get an invalid or stale link message :? Maybe you could email it to me or stick it on PureStorage? :)

I haven't used Yahoo's briefcase but if its what it sounds like (somewhere to upload and share different types of files) then you could register at SpyMac and get a 1 gig email account, 250 mb gallery and 100 mb web hosting (with ftp access) for free.

By the way, your avatar is sometimes giving a remote linking error.

I thought so. YouSendIt.com is a load of crap -- this always happens to me.
All I did was give you the direct file link that the YouSendIt.com e-mail sent
me, so it should work... but anyway, read on! :)

I tried, but: The file type you uploaded is not within the allowed extensions list.
You may not upload this type of file.
It's an exe (setup file). I've used PureStorage
instead (sorry!). The PureStorage link is:

http://purebasic.myftp.org/?filename=fi ... build2.exe

> your avatar is sometimes giving a remote linking error

Really? Damn... oh well, it's just a freebie service I'm using. :)
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

I get the error "Warning: readfile(): Unable to access files/88/pbbuild2.exe" on the PureStorage link. Does it work ok at your end? Sorry for the trouble PB...

Yes! Got it! The link is (notice the change in case of pbbuild):

http://purebasic.myftp.org/?filename=fi ... Build2.exe

Thanks PB for uploading it and thanks Spangly for writing it!
