Nah, it`s time the truth came out..
Fred is actually an AI program running on a Beowulf cluster.
It`s aim was to use genetic algorithms to produce the perfect programming language.

His recent "holiday" was actually a cover for the downtime it took to do some CPU and HD upgrades.
