Help! With instal 3.91b2 (and tying shoelaces)

Post by Dare2 »

I've messed up my 3.91b2 install.

Did this:

Copied PB folder (release 3.90) to folder PureBasic_3_91b2
Copied updates over the PureBasic_3_91b2 folder

Clicked on PureBasic.exe. Loaded some examples. Ran and either get the #PB_* constants missing, or with very simple code like:

Code: Select all

a=1
Debug a
get a huge list

Code: Select all

[path]\Purelibraries\windows\libraries\lcccrt0s.obj.text: Undefined reference to _RtlUnwind@16
  (also _signal, _raise, _GetMainArgs, _exit)
PureBasic.obj.text: Undefined reference to HeapCreate@12
  (and heaps more)
..\debugger\debugger.obj.text: Undefined reference to CreateWindowExA@48
  (and heaps more)
Now I am stumped. Can someone with a brain help me here (and perhaps sell me a few braincells as well. Will pay in cold, hard cybergeld)

I got the same huge list. Wish there could be a complete file to just install (not over anything) for each new update. Never have much with replacing,

You have to run the UpdateTool.exe, not just copy the files!

Now, with these shoelaces ..?
1. You have a case of blondeness
2. You had too many beers
3. You are trying to up your post count
4. All of the above

In any of those cases, I am killing myself laughing on the floor:):)

me to.

I would like to claim 4 but I have to claim 3am-ness. Mind you, I wouldn't mind (1), a case of blondeness. Even a six pack would do.

It's even offensive that you may think of that possibility...

update tool

Post by BillNee »

When I click on the update tool I get a message saying "update directory isn't found or is empty"?!
Still not clear as to the difference between smartupdate and update tool, either.

SmartUpdate applies patches to full releases only. It doesn't contain any
files for beta updates. Once the final is out, you can install it via SmartUpdate
if you like.

As for the UpdateTool.exe, you need to extract the zip and make sure it
recreates the full directory structure in the archive, otherwise it won't work.

Just a question, Fang. I understand the ROFLMAO part but... what about TIPIMP? What does it mean?
