 I didn't really think you were going to say this

I guess I often just assume that people on this forum are of similar age to myself. It's quite possible for you to be 20 years younger than me and still be an experienced (but young) programmer on this forum I guess.

Time for a hollow platitude:
If something really seems to be annoying/angering you more than anyone else around you, chances are that source of the annoyance is more about you than the person you are annoyed at if you look hard enough. It's also often more about the delivery that got under your skin than the content.

Just something I learned in life. Look at yourself if you want to know why you chose to get angry about something :P

And the bell goes for the end of round 2...

Judges please pass your scores to the central umpire so we can see who is ahead before we start the final round.

Contestants please note this is not an extremes bout, please no chairs or ladders allowed in the final round. :x

The Pod People :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion_o ... Snatchers_(1978_film - remake of the 1956 film) - "...by pointing to .... and emitting the piercing pod scream." and "the pod people emit piercing shrill screams once they learn someone is still human"
:)

Some are farther along in the Pod process then others I guess. An example thread to go along with the definition. :)

@Mrs SFSxOI,

An interesting and enlightening definition that relates both the social (un)niceties of the early 21st Century with the Science Fiction Cinematic efforts of the ?1970s? (starring Donald Sutherland if you are indeed referring to the re-make of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (I think there was even a re-make of the re-make - could be wrong)

I took SFSxOI's lead here an showed this thread to my wife Mrs naw - she thinks we're all a bunch of losers and should get out more.

To add insult to injury, on her way to bed (while I am writing this reply) she called me a pod.

So it's happening folks - "Pod People" is getting into the vernacular of the common people ;-)

To see if you are a pod person, I suggest the following actions:

1) Go to a local bar (ideally one that smells of urine and stale beer)
2) Walk up to a complete stranger (preferably a big chap with tatoos)
3) Tell 'said stranger' he's an idoit and he should f**k off
4) Wink at the strangers eg: ;-) to show you didnt mean it (this in itself should add dynamics to what happens after step 5)
5) Continue to drink your been in the secure knowledge that there will be no further repurcussions

If you can complete all 5 steps, then you are a pod person (according to the definition by Mrs SFXsOI)

In Japan I'd get a surprise reaction to step 3, then confused look at step 4. Then since the tat's mean Yakuza I would probably go home to find my house burned down

In Australia, I'd be unconscious before getting a chance to move to step 4. :o

Tipperton wrote:Even more telling is that you had to go to an old lthread to dig up something you could use to support throwing your insults.
You referred to the previous thread suggesting SFSxOI had participated in a heated discussion with you, I was merely pointing out that the only person who got heated was you (as it is again).

Tipperton wrote:Are you one of those people that hold a grudge and never let it go? You really should seek professional help for that because over time all that hate will eat you up from the inside and leave nothing but an empty shell.
I don't have the mental space to hate anyone, I prefer to make better use of my limited resources.

Still, you'd have no problems with 1) as all bars smell of urine and stale beer. 2) would also be no problem. Hell, most Aussie women fit that description! 3) would be a waste of breath as that goes without saying! 4) is the one which will get you killed!

(Add another country to that ever growing list of countries to which srod is banned from visiting!)

*blinks*

Maybe it's smart to have a thread like this active at all times,
so if this one dies out create a new one Part 2 or whatever).
That way all "anger" can be focused into this thread and hopefully keep the rest of the forum "clean" :P

Rather therapeutic don't ya think?
