This is because DirectX has a default refresh rate which is used for any screen modes that are different from the current desktop resolution.
you gotta' be kiddin' me! that could indeed explain it
(Also your nvidia card's properties (in Display Properties->Settings->Advanced) might have a "Refresh Rate Overrides" page where you can specify a different refresh rate for each screen mode)
yep, but nothing there right now, as it should be :-)

i'll try changing that default refresh rate, that's interesting (and a good lesson to all programmers, so you don't only have to set display resolution, but also offer an option to set refresh rate, duh)... i guess

thanks, chris_b

Hi there. I have decited to name my game "Tiger War 2004". Here is what it currently looks like:

Image

I want to add some more in the background like mountians and some planes flying in the back. (They will be faded and smaller.)

If anyone has comments/suggestions or feels like helping me please e-mail me at driaktravo@hotmail.com . I could use anyone (sprite design[for mountains and faded planes], I would really like some help with the menu/high score system.) you dont have to be good. This is just for fun...
