I thought the 3D engine was getting some love for years now? Make other add-ons and commercial libs, etc. The guys at Darkbasic, Blitz, Realbasic, have been doing this for years and they make a good living. If you really want the money start treating it like a business and not just a bedroom project.
I think those are some of the reasons WHY many of us are using PureBasic and not those others you listed.
For those of us that use PB to develop business apps, we'd like to see more commands to support that in the command set.
I think PB is just fine in the same consistent direction Fred has been taking it since the beginning.

Hey, if it helps PB then let's all make a point of actually clicking on the ads once in a while too!

And I find this perfectly reasonable.

If one wants to help PB could do better as in writing some good code and sharing it, or making a donation, or talking about it to other people, or linking it in his home page, etc.

I have absolutely no problem with ads - especially not ones strategically located at the bottom. I'm running Chrome and ... some theme and can't seem them.

I wouldn't even be bothered by ads mid-post as I'm very good at skipping over them automatically. I'm really good at skimming but still having interesting things catch my eye.

I've been thrilled with PB since the beginning and it just gets better. Support from the PB team has been awesome and I feel pleased whenever y'all are able to make some extra money. You're good people.

Fred & Freak: What about the Add-ons (extra-libs)? Do you consider it or will you never do that?

It`s an easy calculation for me: Monthes vs. Money......Should I try to develop something by myself (without success  ) or should I buy something for some Euros?

If we have choosed a one time licensing scheme for all plateform, it's because we actually dislike to pay everytime a new version of a software we use comes out (i ended up with free software alternatives for that very reason). It's a kind a compromize, and we are really fine with it. Also, having to pay for plugin is also a no-no, because it will divide the community between several parts, something we don't want.

...too generous for a salesman :D
Would you release something (e.g such stuff Stephen does), what will only work on XP onwards, but never will work on Linux?
Do you have something like that in your drawer?

But then, why ads? If money is a problem, get your business head on with PB!

Dude, honestly do an true OOP version. You'll be rolling in the cash! 8)

Ahhh finally I see them too. No problem for me either. I'll keep them.

Would be different if they were flashing and animated, I hate that stuff, but this is really inconspicuous.

I'm insulted to think that Fred thinks that we're a gullible enough bunch to click through on those ads.
Obviously we're not held in that higher regard.

We still love U though, we all make stupid mistakes ...

Years ago when I was looking to find another basic type of language to move to from QB4.5.
What you said above was one of the main reasons I decided to switch to PureBasic.
I sure wasn't disappointed. I think that the reason PureBasic has become so great, and far
above the others mentioned, is because of that policy. And also from the great forum support
and the various contributions from others. Don't knock a good thing :!:
It does cost to run the forum. Those ads can help defray that cost, and certainly being on the
bottom shouldn't bother anybody. Why even complain about them?
Don't knock a good thing :!:

I don't have a problem with the ads but I don't think they'll generate much income either, not while they're hidden down the bottom.

What could possibly be better would be to create a subscribers only area in the forums either as an yearly sub fixed cost or donation, so only subscribers can read it. While the forum is a great resource sometimes I don't always want to share my stuff to the public at large but I would like to share it with the community, being those people who contribute to the forum and understand that it's mostly a cooperative effort.
