I have an ATI Radeon 8500 LE which has 128MB of Crucial DDR, but I can't use it until I get the rest of my new pc built. Who knows when that will happen !

Jan,

I'd preferably say that 128 meg should be a minimum : In the company I work, most of our PCs ran with 64 meg ram and people felt frustrated;

A few months ago (2 or 3), we upgraded their PCs with 64 more meg, and they feel the difference now , believe me ! (They use W95, Office 97, 10 gig HD).

IMHO, as for programing, it is a good thing to have a low ressources PC because if your progs runs on you PC, it will run even better on upgraded PCs.
