Well supposedly there are multiple endings..

I just got through doing some things on the Citadel, then took a break from that (boooring) and went to deal with Grissom Academy for some XP/money/ adventure.

Somehow I knew what they were going to do with EDI, like when he walked in the room and it was all smoky I was " ahhh come on really?"

You either try to finish a game as fast as you can or ME3 is rather short compared to 1 and 2. Then again, I'm an explorer and given the chance I will take the time to try and explore every nook and cranny I can so a game takes me two or more times as long to finish as most average game players. I don't care, I'm not in any hurry.

Though a little disappointing, it not a problem to me, to me Mass Effect is more about the story than about fighting.

The game arrived two days ago, but I haven't installed it yet because I'm still playing Deus Ex Human Revolution. And then I have other games I've already bought that are still unplayed.

Too many games, not enough time.

Hmmm I'd personally say it was longer - it took me 17 hours to complete ME2 (with extra DLC missions)

I'm nearing the end, and I'm already over 40 hours of gameplay. A very small percentage of that is a couple hours of accrued nap-time at the keyboard or brief naps in bed with the game paused in the menu, but still very significant.

I have to say I wish most games were long like this.. I started it like, a week ago? I am not a hardcore gamer like I used to be, rushing through everything as fast as I can and stuff.. I am much more casual than I used to be, and my one complaint about games, despite what they advertise. is always a serious lack of play-time (especially for story-driven games)..

One of the reason I stopped buying games when $50 - $60 retail became the normal price, I mean really. $60 for a game I can beat in 3 hours? Fuck that..

I am pleasantly surprised with the length of ME3, but I am still dreading what will happen in the ending.. I've read a little but done my best to skip spoilers, in discussions I've read.

You will have a choice, take the blue pill or the red pill xD

BTW, i advice everyone to save the game in London (after launching the rockets and destroying the harvester), because it's the last time you can save before the end, and if you want to see all endings you have to restart from that point... And yes auto saving is disabled after that mission!

I am so pissed at Bioware right now.

Don't even bother playing to see the different endings. Its basically the same ending with different colored explosions and a few minor details altered.

And photoshopping stock photos for Tali's face and the wintersky background in the ending? How utterly disgusting.

I was actually pretty dissapointed. The grahpics are awesome, but the gameplay is... well, too scripted. But hey, that's me ;)

That's very possible, I don't really pay that much attention to how long it takes me to finish a game and my bame play time bay be exaggerated by the fact that unless required to complete a task, I never rush through a game and take plenty of time to explore.

It took me about 50/51 hours to get to the ending.

*SPOILER*

The end is quite "open" in my opinion. As I see it no one of the endings is real, only if you choose the red option (destruction) you may end up with a final cutscene showing Shepard breathing between rubbles in London.
This means all happened inside his mind, and all this was an indoctrination attempt. But by choosing to destroy the reapers Shepard break away from it, waking up again at the base of the beam, and so what will happen after this is unknown.
In the other two endings Shepard's will to fight is overcome by the indoctrination, and probably Shepard will never wake up from those.
I suspect even the child was never real, and that it was a long-range indoctrination attempt. Think about it.
Only Shepard seem to see him. And when Anderson call him in the tunnel scene, the child is gone. Shepard snap out of it that time because Anderson bring him back.

All makes quite sense.
Many players in the end will be indoctrinated too, and miss all this. It's a nice twist.
The only complaint I have is after three long episodes we don't have a closure.
But it is a powerful ending, I have to admit (and that leaves the door open for a ME4 if they ever decide to do so or a DLC).

Bioware has already discredited the "indoctrination" theory.

Really ? And I mean it as in "Are you really sure ?"
Where ? When ? And most important, how ? A link would have been nice, because if it is exists I must have missed it.

I would like to hear a better explanation of the one I briefly exposed, because I can't really imagine one more fitting with what I witnessed firsthand playing the game. I'm curios to hear a more acceptable theory.

Anyway in the future they can come up with anything, if they decide it's better for them or the game franchise for some reason.

As long it fits better than the interpretation above, I'll accept it. But it MUST BE better.

They have created the game so I hope they would know what they had in mind.

Until then... indoctrination it is for me. It makes sense at least. Without, it's only absurd.

I may have spoke too soon on that, maybe it was a rumour I picked up somewhere.

But I don't buy the Indoctrination defense as being their original intent, and even if it was, then it is seriously poor writing. There are lots of rebuttals to the theory as well that make just as much sense.

Nobody can know what the true intent was until Bioware either admits

A) They fucked up-- badly
or
B) They fucked up, they just wanted to charge us money for better endings. (essentially meaning they charged people $60 for an unfinished product)

WTF???

In my ending Sheppard dies destroying the Citadel and the Reapers, after that there's a cut scene where you see the Normandy crashing on a deserted planet, then after the Credits, another cut scene, and you see an old man telling a child old stories about "The Sheppard" (i think it was Joker narrating), and it ends with the child asking for another story! (possible ME4)

--EDIT--

I got this ending by choosing to destroy the Reapers and the Mass Relays (went to the right), and using a fresh new character.

As I said, a rather dull and forgettable ending:

Big explosions - check
Reapers stopped - check
Crew survive - check
The end? - check
