From what I've seen here, srod was an active regular. Why isn't he making the announcement?

I wonder whether hypnosis works via the internet.
Maybe we'd just try it.

Srod, concentrate on this spiral ...
Your eyes become sleepy ...
You are losing your will ...
You are returning to the PB forum ...
:)

Never thought something like that was possible. He was born to code ! :)

Well, I still don't believe it.

My best wishes in any case srod, if you read this.

Cause I suspect that he didn't want to make a "Big deal" about it. Sometimes it is just easier to fade away :)

But as others have said... Good luck young Stephen. Perhaps now you will stop stealing all my bloody sheep!

Srod, tell us... was it me, that you are leaving?!

Best wishes from here as well -- and just do a posting from time to time for us (it would be a shame you won't reach the number of 10.000 postings)

The first year of a new business can be very scary - eyes forward and just keep plugging away.

Best of luck m8.

Yes I was thinking about posting, briefly, to say why I am not around as much these days to help out and hinder as appropriate, but, well, I am not actually going anywhere as such, just spending much less time online and, at the moment, no time coding whatsoever. So a farewell posting did not seem appropriate somehow.

When online I always pass by the forums, though will read very few threads in detail. I missed this thread completely! :) I check and respond to my pm's etc.

After four years coding and working on Mathematics materials, I have decided upon a little venture which will force me from my lazy-arse backside and into the fresh air beyond the confines of these walls. Because of this, either the Maths materials or the coding had to go and, well, the maths materials make too much money for me to consider that option.

Another reason why coding ‘has to go’ is the fact that, well, I do tend to go at it like a herd of buffalo in a china tea shop. Shove a coding problem in front of me and I’ll hack at it for days on end at the expense of everything else, which is not really conducive to running a small business I reckon!

Thus it is that I am stepping back from coding and indeed have not written a single line of code for nearly 3 months now, concentrating upon setting up this new venture of mine and continuing with the maths materials instead. It certainly makes for an interesting life right now, especially considering that I know more about brain surgery than I do about setting up and running a new business, and anyone considering commissioning me to perform brain surgery really is in need of a new brain (or soon will be after I finish the surgery!) :)

Anyhow, thank you very much for the kind words and thank you to all those who have supported my wild hacks throughout the years. I apologise that I will be unable to help out newbies in the way that I have been able to in the recent past, but there are loads of great coders in these forums willing to give their time etc.

This is not a farewell because as I say, I am not going anywhere. Just stepping back from coding is all.

This will also give me time to get to grips with those sheep that fangbeast keeps sending me. The bastard never told me that you had to feed the damn things!

Regards.

Stephen.

Srod, I wish you could upload your PB coding knowledge, you are one of the few
who really know how to code in PB to it´s limits. I still have your OOP for PB
saved in my source directory for PB and still am amazed by it until this day.
And yes you´re right about it : you can´t give the same (intense) focus to both
coding and doing business. I hope you are going to be as successful with your
business as with your coding.
Greetings cw

So you have also to come back with 4.60

As I told you: Best wishes and a lot of luck!!
