It's not me, I had read this post before and was just giving a reminder:

but if it really doesn't matter, never mind :wink:

Just some of the issues when there are replies to spam posts (or embedded spam posts)

Threads tend to meander and go off topic. Removing a thread started by a spammer then removes these other posts and some users get peeved.

Picking and choosing which posts to remove from a thread can be a begger and a time waster. And clicking the wrong "X" is likely to have some irate user breathing down a mods neck - and the spam still stands. :D

So it can add a little extra work and angst.

Netmaestro is right in my (not so) humble opinion. :)

Please don't respond to spammers.

Thanks!

@Dare(2),

Good point!

@netmaestro,

Sorry, wasn't meaning to pick on you.

Fortunately I don't have that problem. The first five posts by a new user have to be approved by a moderator before they are visible to the rest of the forum. So what little spam we get nobody sees....

If bots (or the spammers) were a little smart, they would add themselves to active threads instead of new ones :)

Some do. Remember the bot/guy who embedded a popup and kept posting " :) " randomly in threads.
