It's easier for the mods to delete a post if there are no replies to it.

It's been said loads of times but here goes again, if no-one replies to a message then it can be removed in a couple of clicks, if someone does reply then the work to remove the post becomes alot harder with other peoples messages needing to be removed.

Yeah...

With Invision Power Board it doesn't matter if anyone replies or not, the number of steps needed to delete a thread is the same....
  1. Select thread(s)
  2. Choose delete
  3. Apply to selected thread(s)
  4. Done!
Doesn't matter if the thead has only one post or a hundred.

Of course Invision Power Board isn't free, so I guess you get what you pay for....

But still, why reply anyway, it's just going to be deleted....

Guess I have to agree there, maybe they make it easier in the new version. Hope they also make their spam protection better, because damn I hate these messages I get in my forum each day...

I really don't understand the Hassel about this arf..arf..arf

In the german Forums wich is also phpBB there is no problem to delete a complete topic with just one click, no matter how many answers are there.
and that was already before the last update, and before the last update we had no captcha...
so, I presume it's not a problem with phpBB itself, but with the Templates used.
oh... and have a nice day.

Might be the version used. I notice the copyright on this version says 2005 so its about two years old unless the phpBB devs haven't been updating that.

They do have captcha but it looks pretty basic, lots of contrast between the characters and the background and the characters aren't too mangled.

A spambot with fairly current OCR could probably get past it.
