A liter of gasoline: 1.41€ (about the same as in germany, Switzerland and so on..)
a pack of 20 smokes: 4
a 6-pack of beer: Not sure about that one; i buy in germany and at the disco's
WD 80 GB IDE HD: 406€ (at the cheapest place)
1000/128kbit adsl: ~55€

Faroe Islands... no prices are the same as in Denmark. Take a motorcycle f.x. Suzuki GSX-R600 K6 ... 118.000 DKK (~15.815euro) which in Denmark costs about 180.000 DKK (~24.125euro).
Gotta lov' em taxes...
EDIT: Btw people, we do not pay for water nor disposal of it. Excellent!

Stupid thread alert. What if a burger costs 10 Euros here in Norway, and I earn 100 Euros an hour? Are you concerned about tourists or what?
To explain, my truck has a 220hp/3.5 litre engine, and one litre of gas is approx. 12/8 Euros. Bad isn't it?, but give our purchasing power, it's the amongst cheapest gas prices in Europe.

This must be house prices. When i visit Paris (wich i have done a few times) i find it cheaper. Everything; food, electronics, whatever.
Looks like others have the same view:
As someone who's lived in Paris & Geneva, and who visits London regularly, I have to say I'm shocked Paris ranks higher than the other two. There's probably not much in it shopping wise, but eating out is so cheap here and as for public transport, London doesn't even have a look in!
sas, paris
THIS is a funny one:
I have heard people from Canada complain about prices in Paris but that is because they are ordering coca colas and burgers... eat the local foods in any country and it will cost you less. In Paris have wine and an omlette for lunch and it is quite reasonable. I am sure eating local food in Oslo would be the same.
Thats just crap

MCD is basically always the cheapest place. The most expensive eating i ever did was here in denmark; on a very very fine restaurent. This was a really nice experience.
The best place i ever did compared to money, was a restaurent called "Smokey's" in south africa. The dinner was.. i cannot describe it; uh. of course it was not a fine place like the one in denmark, but it was very very comfortable with an open fire and everything. It was a real nice experience

This house is one of my neighbours:

Not bad looking but straight on the road and with a tiny garden.
A snip at approx EUR 570000
