Why not incorporate Audiere\d.u.m.b. into the PB executable? I believe the license allows it, as long as credit is given to the authors. Not sure if the source code to your program would have to be made available (don't think so, only if you modify the Audiere\d.u.m.b. source itself).

BTW, Audiere\d.u.m.b. have been mentioned many times before and seem to fit the bill perfectly, but still it has not been incorporated into the PB core. Anyone know why?

It would really fit the bill because:
- liberal license
- source code available to tinker (make smaller\fine tune)
- available on multiple platforms already

This is from their website:
Audiere is a high-level audio API. It can play Ogg Vorbis, MP3, FLAC, uncompressed WAV, AIFF, MOD, S3M, XM, and IT files. For audio output, Audiere supports DirectSound or WinMM in Windows, OSS on Linux and Cygwin, and SGI AL on IRIX.

Audiere is open source and licensed under the LGPL. This means that you may freely use Audiere in commercial products, as long as you do not modify the source code. If you do modify Audiere and release a product that uses your modifications, you must release your changes to the code under the LGPL as well.

Audiere is portable. It is tested on Windows, Linux-i386, Cygwin, and IRIX with at least three major compilers. Most of Audiere is endian-independent, so I expect it would work with few modifications on other architectures
Seems perfect, except no Mac version immediately available (although supposedly *nix variants are fairly painless to convert to OSX). Anyone?

Check it out here:

So, to summarize... will the plugin eventually be completed or will it not for some reason (like your new company taking up your time)? I'm a bit confused as to the outcome that will be.

Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the quick feedback, glad to hear it too. You guys make this PB lib coding look easier than it seems.

*thumbs up*
