?i did have 3d support afaik

the 6600gt and 6800(gt) are at the moment pretty good, make sure you get a silent one (my asus 600gt is NOT silent)

there are no such things these days as bad high end cards... well there are expensive high end cards, true

cheapo's i'd go for nvidia (mx range if it's still out there)
mid range i'd go for ati
high end i'd go for nvidia again

but... your mileage may vary...

heh like nvidia ever has beaten ati..

high end gaming pc's does use ati cards. they are simply the best!

ati has obsoleted nvidia because ati has full GLSL implementation. nVidia had problems with it, but I think they have solved their problems with GLSL and the newest cards support GLSL as well as ATI. nVidia supports cg shader more than ATI so I think nVidia has the best cards. ATI has also cheated in some official tests with games(FarCry etc.) as I read somewhere.

cheating? more cg shader support? the program i know that uses that the most is probaly .kkrieger wich runs very good on my ati card.
im pretty sure ati hasnt cheated with anything, and those tests are not done by ati, lamer, they are done by 3rd party people who do not intend to support any of them.

im pretty sure you just make things up. "eh i heard ati cheats". i think nvidia has the best cards you dont fucking own one of them. at least i tried several cards of both companies and i have readden much about them, and compared many different tests etc..

ati gets best test results, therefore they much cheat! wow nice discovered. is that so? NO its not. dont come here tell something you made up. that really does make me angry, not very, but slightly.

some m$ freak coming telling me that ati cheated in official tests does really get me going... ..hctaib..

nope im not 8 year. i should treat other like i would like to be treated? I do chat with this guy we often call each other that for fun and he know i doesnt mean it heh he just called me an ATI Freak

You certanly dont know whats going on, but i agree you wouldnt have a chance of knowing either.

The ATI freak has a point, you shouldnt say hes 8 years old when hes 9 (and im 3).


Both ATI and NVIDIA (im calling ATI first so the ATI Fr3@K doesnt go nuts and kill someone ) Has good GLSL support, although people was saying that one of them seem to be liking DX more than OGL ... You say why!? (a contract with m$? - Could be! ) . To me, they both support OpenGL excelent - and we are talking about the latest gfx cards from this brands, nothing oldie so dont speak with out reading this line! - ... From a programming point of view.. why dont they just blend in so we dont have to work on ati extensions from one side, and nvidia from the other!

:roll: I think a trident would beat up both cards, as if you guys keep on fighting, there wont be time to try them out and compare

We need some legal people, 2 equal systems and this 2 cards among with some games and benchmarking tools... then we'll see when I get the money from which brand to "cheer up" the numbers - oeps im thinking out loud -

Quit fighting for this, if they do the job, then whats the problem at all?!

As a side note..
On some hardware providers, The equivalent ATI cards are cheaper than their closest counterpart on Nvidia.. You tell me if We are paying for the brand or not -_-


But, lets do a better thread... AMD vs INTEL and there, I will fight you to death if you say Intel is better, because its not, dammit!!

Hehe... No, I didn't call you "that kind of stuff". Read again. But of course, with the right background-information I wouldn't have said something like that. yeah i support amd as well but looking at them the biggest difference is the price, where amd truly beats intel.
but the newer amd 64bit really is a great processor, and it is better than all intels. It doesnt get nearly as hot as a pentium, and it does have better performance results. even without a 64 bit OS. But i dont know about the other intel processors so i wont comment that case.

true, but i just got too upset with people talking about what is best without looking in to it. and if they havent even tried both cards, it upsets me even more. And as i told j-the-grey i know that guy a bit so he wont take my words as serious. but i agree no one should use those words, but heh they werent that bad and not too serious meant...

I'd go with the Nvidia card since you're running an intel machine..

I have found that ATI cards work better with AMDs and Nvidia cards work better with intel... (This is assuming you have an intel chipset too and not a VIA/SIS)
