Looks like the mods are at it again. Bah, this time erased my avatar

I remember the title problem, and not avatar ... why are you guys doing this?

(edit): I had to re-enter my avatar again after what happened above. I shouldn't have to check my settings everytime I log onto these forums.

it must be! My computer cannot find the domain http://www.shannarafamily.com ...! so, its probably the host for the image thats down

edit: Of course it could be fred is having some fun removing your avatar but i really doubt that

i just say if I were a mod i would also really enjoy removing the users avatars.. maybe..

edit2: It really is a conspiracy! see fred denies what he or one of his fellow board admins and moderaters have done!!

I donno, shows up perfectly here. hrm, and NO! I have the upmost respect for Fred (even though I sometimes dont seem to show it). But when I say mod .. I am excluding Fred

i think we got bad ranks on this forum. just notice most of the people who helps other have the addicted rank :/ look at mr mat, dare2 or just me for instance.. and lots of other people too! i jump around helping people with rather advanced things like protecting their software writing self modifying exe's and stuff even the "experts" dont know about, and trying to explain to beginners why they cant reject a user before he has connected to the server etc.. and even how they can do it after they are connected..

eh of course some exceptions of very helpfull people that has the purebasic expert rank..
i think we need a kind of middle rank, like power user?
just my thoughts though..

sorry this is a discussion about mods, i know, not about ranks:)
i think the moderaters of this forum is doing a nice job.

well the page certanly wont show up here.! try refresh the page to see if its just cache (or if that works, try cleaning your cache and refresh the page again..)

Hmm, there shouldnt be any pages showing so far. I think they were referencing the avatar addy itself, above. I purposely left the page blank on that domain as it is mainly for image feeding and email.

A power user rank is great, but the expert rank (which I was until someone had fun ...) is a misnomer and the eye of the beholder

exactly! well many were afaik, they just changed ranking system wich is ok. however i just think a power user rank is needed too.

well the page doesnt even show up! it cant contact the site! and the link to the avatar is also uncontactable(eh is that a real word?

Ranks in such a forum will never really work, as a lot of human factors kick in (sympathy one of them), as well as programming is by far a too wide field to be covered with a simple rank. Expert in this doesn't mean expert in that.

So we are where we were - quantity counts still - and added the factor sympathy. Way to go to unite a community.

I am for the only practicable solution. Remove any rating and let the quality of the post decide and let the asker decide, which solution fits best for him.

exactly! Remove rankings.! of course admin and moderater should still be there.

Actually I can't see any avatars or any pictures in the signatures.

Oh yeah right, I blocked them all with FireFox.

I haven't done anything. What's with the accusations?

Sorry bout that. For some reason I assumed the mods had a hand in this one, like they did in the last. Basically, the last one was where they changed my profile's rank to be a custom newbie instead of what it was .. after a post complaint, it was changed to what it is now.

FSW: Is there a firefox plugin that does that, blocking of certain images? If so, what's the name? I sure can use something like that.

Also, Im all for removal of all rankings except admins and mods. Heck, why not one step further and use the no-postcount phpbb mod? < -- serious here.
