Looking for advice

Post by CherokeeStalker »

I'm planning on registering a domain & putting up a site.
Looking for suggestions & advice as to good but inexpensive
hosting company from those who have their own site. Thanks.

From 1.20 EUR / month for 300 MB, unlimited trafic, unlimited mail accounts, FTP, MySQL, PHP4, daily backups AND a Google AdWords coupon: 50 EUR!!

2.60 EUR for 600 MB and so on...

http://www.surftown.se/ is very good and cheap if you want a Windows platform.

and you have of course GoDaddy (where I register all my domains)

https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/ ... %2B&ci=132

not so cheap maybe, but uptime guarantee and I like their service.

Do you need a site? I mean if your ISP gives you webspace then why not use that and redirect your domain to it?

Yes they do, but I need more space than they allow!

I've received this response more than any other, so I think this is the one
I'll use. Thanks!

How much space do you need? Is this going to be a commercial site? The reason for questioning your requirements is the solution can be cheap/expensive and easy-to-manage/a-pain-in-the-butt. Having run a commercial site self-hosted and isp-hosted I'd think carefully what exactly I need before signing up for any services. HTH.

http://www.myhosting.com

I've used them for years, as well as many others I know. Fast connection, lots of features and decent pricing. You can have a Windows/ASP server or a Linux/Apache/PHP server (or both depending on your plan).
