Thank you for sharing your fantastic vision of what a true programmer's tool should be. The more I learn about your application, the more I want to learn. At last an addiction that does not cause tooth decay and love handles! Haha..

One of the methods I work most frequently with is incorporating Shockwave Flash into the container applications I design (either as compelling interfaces, or advantageous presentations). I also make great use of the common Window's Microsoft ActiveX components such as the web browser. I hope this is not too hard of a request..

Would it be possible to include a new library for embedding and communicating with ActiveX components within PureBasic? I am sure someone with about a zillion more brain cells than I have may be able to discover a way to use Flash and the Web Browser through a combination of Win32API and asm. But I know I cannot be the only person who would benefit hugely from the addition of such a convenient ActiveX library. These are the two main issues that are keeping me from (very happily) switching most of my work over to PureBasic.

Even if you cannot design such a library, or another multimedia related library, I like to say thank you for all the hard work you have already done. It is truly appreciated, my friend. You deserve more congratulations than I can possibly do you justice in this message.

Actually you are wrong on both counts. It causes love handles for the incredible amounts of time we spend there programming and not exercising. And it causes tooth decay because we are always sitting there programming and not eating properly.

You're lucky, v3.20 will have a preview of a 'WebGadget()' which use the IE ActiveX component so you could include any HTML based page (including Flash if IE support it). Would be a start... A little webbrowser will be coded in 4 lines to demonstrates that :)

You have me very curious of the fuctioning of the WebGadget(). So far, I have been completely impressed by your hard work with adding new features to PureBasic. Will it include an option to disable (or capture and redirect) the right click over the browser window? Disabling the right click pop-up menu in the browser is essential for professional looking work. (Not even javascript does it the right way, since javascript can easily be turned off.) Will there also be a feature to send data to and from the WebGadget()? (Dynamically updated HTML displays, or passed variables to the container application.) And thirdly, will it be possible to redirect the WebGadget() to display content directly from a network source, including the Internet?

Did you also mention that you are designing a FlashGadget() as well? :wink: Hahaha..

Well, I will go tattoo '3.20 is when it all began' on my chest now, and try to imagine how four small lines can code a demonstration. (Fantastic!)
