Problem running PB programs on Windows XP 64

Post by GeoTrail »

Some of my friends have Windows XP 64 and when they try to run any of my PB programs on their machine they just get a warning message saying that the program could be a threat. They work on all other Windows version, so I'm guessing this has something to do with the fileprotection thingy in XP 64.

I just made a small simple program with two buttons on it, when clicking them they just display another window. But they can't be run on Windows XP 64. Does anyone else has any experience or perhaps any tips on this?

Isn't there a special folder in XP 64 for 32 bit programs to be saved in?

If you look at the properties of the .exe file does it indicate that the file has been blocked? I have seen this on WindowXP SP2 when a file is downloaded.

I don't have Windows XP 64 so I can't tell. It's just a feedback I got.
But after compressing the compiled exe with a executable compression software it worked fine. Kinda strange :?

Maybe Fred has any idea on this?

What build of XP SP2 are you using? I keep mine uptodate (via windows update) and never have the blocking of files problem on files downloaded from the net.

I don't have that problem wither, to use the fileprotection feature in SP2 it has to be enabled manually, but I think this might be different on XP 64 if I'm not mistaken.
