Executable Icons on linux

Would it be possible to have the possibility to choose an icon for our executable ? For the moment, the X icon looks strange

I don't think this is possible to bundle an icon with an .exe on linux as it's a feature from the Window Manager. You can probably change the displayed icon in the shortcut easily.
