We can join a small team, work on a showcase game as you said, and if it turns out well, next project should be a commercial title. Thing is, if you already got experience on game dev, or if you're a musician, or programmer, and you would like to work on something like this, plus, knowing you'll have to "live" with other's points of view, suggestions, etc. Theres no need for a freeware project, maybe let it be shareware. But if theres previous experience, better.

Do I make any sense? I woke up at 3am and couldnt go back to bed since then

first of all i will say that i only used 40 minutes on this. The music for the game will of course be better if im chosen to help making it. Besides, its hard to make creep music! I just wanted to see how i could make it and i think its ok for creep games heh... hear for yourself but keep the 40 minutes in mind :)

creep.mp3 [1.81 mb]

of course i could make better music if i spend more time on it heh this game project isnt exactly supposed to be finnished in 40 minutes so ill bet i will have more time :)

:P Relaxing!
I'd say its good for a puzzle game because this type of music gives ambient but does not bother you while playing. So not bad for just 39 minutes (I got tired of reading "40 minutes" )

yeah might be for a puzzle hehe well it was just a sample to show i wasnt using premade sounds etc

[i made the melody myself it just came up when i was playing with my keyboard. the "bell" sound is made by me with the 3*oscillator in FL studio, as well as the organ. Other sounds were some following FL studio [dist guitar is made with a generator in FL studio. a generator is a sound generator heh]

well glad you at least didnt think it was far far out for being called a melody heh

true :)

yup FruityLoops 5.0. Never tried Cubase but i have heard of it. But i must say FLStudio has grown to maybe number 1 pc studio for making music. And its not having an insane price either!
