Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

PB code archive - another way

Post by eddy »

I think Andre cant do it alone.
A wiki website would more interesting for the community.

You are right, wiki is perfect for this.
The problem is that this has been proposed many times before, and after a long thread the idea always goes off.

I can suggest to start the project, start updating, and hoping that some other user will join the idea.
When will get bigger, the "others" will see how nice it is :)

The Delphi people have a couple of programs that do this well - a commercial one at http://www.baltsoft.com
and a free one at http://www.d-tnt.co.uk/

Each is a program that contain articles and examples of code, and you can add your own. It is updateable by internet, so there is a central server where the articles can be put.

These are great, because you don't have to be on-line all the time - I only get 31.2Kbps.

Is there a free one of these anywhere? I guess there'd still have to have the server.

I was experimenting with using KeyNote from http://www.tranglos.com/free/keynote.html, but I don't think I'm organised enough.

I set this up a bit ago (Still needs improvement) Its basicly a source paste for PB with syntax highlighting with multiple themes.

http://athecks.com:88/

I am thinking of making it open source (Its written in PB) so it can be modifiyed

Ooo, this one looks really nice. I've been looking for something along these lines for a while, I'm going to d/l and have a play. Thanks for the link carolight :)

Jim

EDIT:
Ahem, I didn't read the post properly and installed D-TNT. It's already populated with Delphi source and tied directly into the website. Silly me :)

I'm going to try Keynote next. Let's see what a mess I can make of that one!

Can't get on to athecks via T'Internet at work (firewall), so will try at home tonight. Isn't athecks the site where you have to register before you can get on to anything other than the front page or am I thinking of somewhere else?
