Why is the solution another browser? Why not make it work for the most popular browser (Internet Explorer) and all the others? Sorry I know how stupid everybody is for using it but the fact remains that it is by far the market leader in browsers. When somebody says they have a problem with Windows you don't tell them to get a different operating system. You try and fix the root of the problem. Right? I use FireFox too, but this popup thing must be addressed.

You'd be surprised by how many times I've seen people advising others to
drop Windows for Linux... VERY surprised.

Browser statistics are not really measurable with any degree of accuracy. Opera, Firefox and Mozilla, by default identify themselves as "IE" when browsing a site. This gives IE a lot of false ratings in any statistic collecting.you say its the most popular browser...
With AOL planning to take IE out of their browser and likely doing this for CompuServe, WalMart Connect, Netscape (all AOL derivitaves), the amount of IE users will drop by double-digit millions. AOL alone has over 23 million subscribers, CompuServe has over 3 million subscribers, WM Connect has over a million subscribers, all of these will quit using IE very soon. Netscape has over a million subscribers, but they are already NOT using IE.

Take a look at the HTTP-Header of for example Opera in IE-Mode.Forest Dreams wrote: Browser statistics are not really measurable with any degree of accuracy. UserAgent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; de) Opera 8.00
In Comparison IE:
UserAgent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)

Well you guys are talking about this so I will respond.
These are facts:
- Internet Explorer is the most used browser. (I am sure that noone is denying this)
- FireFox is growing in popularity
- I use FireFox
Internet Explorer is so popular that there is no disputing that it is the most widly used. So even if the browsers are identifing themselves wrong it wouldn't matter. That is how much of a lead Internet Explorer has in the browser race.
Just thought that we would all want to have the most useful resource that it could be.
PS. The forum does seem fixed.
