Hi,
Sorry for the length of this post.
I bought PB online this afternoon after reading as much about it as I could find. There are a few minor issues that almost put me off buying it and wondered if anyone else had any thoughts about this? Fred?
There is far too little info on the PB website for potential customers. It's just not convincing enough on it's own to get people to spend money. With all the other flavours of BASIC out there, it has to be something special to get people like me to part with their cash.
There should be a FAQ. I wanted to know how the registration process works, but couldn't find anything. I also wanted to know about any visual forms design add-ons for PB. I had to post in the forum to find out. I know the answers are on the forums, but it's a pain to have to search dozens of messages to find a snippet of info that should be readily available on the main site.
I think there should also be a links page. It would have sold the product immediately for me if I'd been able to find a link to other PB resources online. As it is, I had to spend 30 frustrating minutes on Google trying to find more information.
I read a message on one of the other forums from someone saying they thought PB is potentially let down by lack of advertising and publicity. I agree. It seems to be a great program that has a very enthusiastic following, but I only found out about it by accident after trawling through lots of other general sites looking for an easy to learn programming language. There must be many missed sales as a result of all this. I nearly went for iBasic instead.
The comments above are meant to be constructive criticism btw, not a complaint!

Regards,
Jimbo
