Fred: Any words on an update for the 3D Engine?

Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

I love the way that Fred drops these major revelations in as casual side remarks.
Yeah, he he...

Heh, that's only possible for future customers and not existing ones :) But all in all, that should help Fred make a living off of PB :)

Well he could discontinue PureBasic...

And start a "NEW" Project called "Fred's Best Basic" which includes all stuff that is already in PureBasic and much more, but with a different license.
Voila :!:

And if old customers want to be up to date they have to pay too

He can do what ever he needs to do to make a living 8O

Heck...

He's going to sell PB source to Microsoft for a buck...

Old costumers can upgrade to Visual Studio .PB for 250,00 euros and get the upgrade DVD...

New costumers can pay 900,00 euros for the licence* and get the 2 installation DVD's...

Now that's making money

* Updates not included - Software requires 1.6Gb hard disk space + 512mb memory to run Berikco's Visual Studio

I never thought about fred discontinuing Purebasic.. 8O damn, I never thought of that at all.. ack! Well, that would be the only way in order to charge existing customers for updates 8O bah! If he does discontinue purebasic, I would definately pay for the "new product" if it's truely cross platform :)

Then again, if PB goes in the way of other discontinued basics, someone else might pick it up :D

Look out Fred, Microsoft could rip off Purebasic for a scripting language. They'll change 2 or 3 commands and call it APB... But I'm sure that's obvious to everyone 8)

There is no plan to change the actual licensing scheme, and if something ever change, it will be noticed on the purebasic.com website.

Success story

Post by CONVERT »

Congratulations, Fred. I am sure it will be a success story.
PureBasic 6.20 beta 2 (x64) | Windows 10 Pro x64 | Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20Ghz 16 GB RAM, SSD 500 GB, PC locally assembled.
Come back to 6.11 LTS 64 bits because of an issue with #PB_ComboBox_UpperCase in ComboBoxGadget() (Oct. 10, 2024).

Wait a second, are you saying you've got a full time job in addition to developing PureBasic? Where do you find the time? Do you sleep? My God, that is just amazing! You must not be married or seeing anyone. I feel like such an underachiever! There must be some explanation! :D

Best wishes and good luck Fred!!!
