I have just purchased a new tablet PC because my laptop died. I'm used to working in JaPBe, but when I install it and run it I get the following errors:
1) "Can't load *" ERROR
"Can't load *" Error with an OK button when I first load it up. When I click "Ok" the message comes right back. I need to end the task in task manager.
I have been able to temporarily get rid of the error by either deleting the jaPBe.pref file, or deleting the "AutoLoad=*" line in it. However, when I exit and re-open the jaPBe.pref file is recreated (which is what it is supposed to do) or the AutoLoad entry is readded.
2) Dialog Boxes in JaPBe do not respond to mouse clicks
When I do get it to load, and go to the Project Options I can't click on any of the check boxs. I can however click on all the tabs at the top and the drop down boxes for the Executable Format. I need to use the "X" at the top of the window because the OK, Cancel, Help buttons don't work either. It looks like all the standard gadgets are working, just not the Skinned ones?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

JAPBE Errors on Windows XP Tablet Edition
I found a work-around...
I am able to run it fine when I go into the JaPBe Properties and check "Turn off advanced text services for this program" option under the Compatbility tab.
It solves both, the Autoload problem and the non-responsive control problem. I went back and unchecked the box and the problems returned.
Thought you'd like to know.
