to those who like chip-tunes

First of all, I am posting this here, because I know that some of you
understand, like and love chip-tunes (like I do

).

I thought about "porting the old flavor" to the new age, with modern
techniques (ie. no tracker;)), mixing the old (sid-) with new sounds...

Maybe you could listen to an example of what I mean:

So, do you think it makes sense to make chip-alike tunes without... well... the chip?

I sort of tracked it, because I didn't use any keyboard (it's all "hand-drawn"

) but it's made in Cubase VST.
All sounds are virtual synths (VSTi).

Yeah, why not. I love the sounds of intertwined saw wave synths! I have the beginning.xm file from the lethal judgement II game that i play often. I love that tune! I love what used to be done with single sine sample xm's too.

I think its because of the clean crisp sound you get with tracked music, and the kind of machine/electronica sound it conveys! Or maybe it just takes me back to my teens playing games and demos non stop on my old Amigas.

I've never heard the term "chip tune" before. Is that a term handed to electronic music or something?

I keep my MP3 player tuned to ambient radio most of the time, this stuff is great!

It's the term used for machine made sounds (sine/saw/square frequencies)..
ie. it's not made up of traditional "samples"....

you bet there is

i like techno music (also rock, some more quiret ballads etc).
I
would categorize this as a mix of techno (the idea, the melody is techno/electric based) and slow drumms.

I started to learn FLStudio to produce some music too, and i actually made a pretty good rmx of Jingle Bells(were moving towards xmas

)

But this is real good! Make some longer songs and i bet your songs will get a lot of attention!
