Well, all the voting is over, the counting is coming to an end. It looks like Bush won. Yeah I know Ohio is up for grabs, but really, the numbers don't work in Kerry's favour, he Lost, TV is just trying to be fair and nice. Sorry bummed out Democrats, theirs always Hillary Clinton for 2008

So Republicans now own the house, senate and the white house ... This will be interesting next 4 years for Americans.

ffs, why can't the americans look past the war in iraq and vote someone in with the foresight to address not only the enormous damage that bush has wreaked on the US economy but also the environmental damage the US does to the rest of the planet? Is it me or is it that americans just love to destroy things then high five each other? I'm personally from the UK and rumors are that blair was hoping for kerry to win because bush is fast becoming an embarassment to blair and he is trying to now distance himself from him. Being allies of the US we cant simply walk away from any conflict the US starts, so i guess thats more war for us brits in the next 4 years and more alienation from the UN. Bush has done more damage to the international reputation of the americans than any other president and done more damage to their economy then any other president since the 1930's depression! Look at the figures for yourself, it's amazing that the people he represents don't read more. Clinton created the most growth ever for the US economy and created more jobs than any other president in US history but all they remember of him is that woman, sheesh. Bush managed, somehow to destroy all that good work in under 4 years! Also lets not start talking about all the illegal and shady dealings between the bush's and the saudi's (Haliburton) or we'll be here all day. I guess through TV and using saudi money you really can fool a nation... Democracy? ...sheep herding more like!, pffft! :roll:

I have no words for Bush stupidity.

His father started the war on iraq, so i guess it's kind of a family tradition.

Nobody seemed shocked when a white house spokesman told the world that there where no Weapons of Mass Destruction on Iraq, and they made the war on a hunch...

The fact is J. W, Bush Lied to the world, has well has all the other leaders , that said they had seen the proofs presented by the Americans.

Don't take me wrong, i don't dislike americans, but i simply can't stand to be bullshitted and do nothing about it.

I'm very sorry for all of those that voted on Bush, sooner or later you'll all see what we can see already over on this side of the planet.

While personally I had hoped that Bush looses, the impact on me is rather low either outcome.

What amuses me a bit is that those country opposing the Bush agenda basically won. Kerry could have lead them into troubles with reasonable demands regarding world affairs, while the frontiers are well defined now between Bush and the other governments - and they did learn to accept each other to some extent.

Further, specifically thinking of Chirac but also applies to others, some utilized the controversy to profilerate themselves and gather their fellow country people to support them.

In short words; it looks like Bush, Chirac, Schroeder & co. won. A win-win

I'm through with the US. All show and no intelligence (at least apart from CIA and the like ).

If not the whole world would suffer from this I would say: well, they get what they deserve.

- Old Europe (how can a man that insulted [or tried to] over 500 millions of people still be in such a high office?)

- The US were and are interveining in foreign affairs with illegal means (Suez, Lebanon, Panama, Vietnam, Iraq [helped build the alQuaida], Dominican Republic, Kambodscha, Grenada, Bolivia, Haiti ... only to call a few examples)
- with only 5% of world's population the USA consume 25% of world the wide energy (and believe me, live in other parts of the world isn't that much worse, in contrary)

Hi guys, I live in Canada, if you didn't know .. and I have a couple of relatives that live in U.S. , and some friends that moved there. Anyway a cousin of mine who is now in IRAQ was down a couple of summer's ago visiting. It was interesting to hear what he had to say about IRAQ (he was something like 17 at the time, very young). He said how much he hated Iraqi's etc etc.. anyway it seems a lot of pride and propoganda play a part in American Foreign Policy. The US sees Saddam Hussein (Iraq) like communist USSR (russia) was to western countries during cold war, they were all evil.

It is so easy to get people to hate someone, a culture, a a group of people, they don't even know. I really don't understand why Americans hate Saddam, or hated him ... History shows that Saddam never did anything to them. Interesting enough you don't see Americans hating Slobodan Milosevic in the same way. So you know 90% of it is just propoganda just like politics.

I would have voted for Bush, Cheney is cool. I like Kerry, don't like John Edwards though, he's too much of a weenie. I think Democrats are wimps and only stand up for the weak and minorities, which I find annoying. I hate Republican environmental and foreign policy though, thats the real bummer. Americanization sucks. Oh yeah forgot Ralph Nader is a total looser, only US could come up with a nerd like that to stick on the ballet. The USA are atvm exporting that hatred to the whole world, that's the point. So don't wonder when some of that hatred swaps over and comes back to he US. I doubt you ever have seen pictures of frazzled human bodies in the war on Iraq or elsewhere, did you? I did and it was a very disturbing sight, believe me. Is there a just reason to attack a country like Iraq for a single pipeline? What are the 3.000 deads of 9/11 compared to the hundreds of thousands unguilty children that died or are severely wounded in iraq? Is that a just reason, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. What will still be there in the end? Nothing. Who than has won? Nobody. Very noble and christian. I always thought the real christian believe is the love and not the revenge.

I only spoke out openly what many here are thinking, and I talked to a lot of them. And neither I nor any of them is a real fanatic, no they are normal people that have normal jobs.

Good point freedimension, i happen to be watching news and seen 911 happen live when it happened. I'll never forget it. To americans this is the most tragic thing ever to happen. To third world countries this happens every day, take Suddan for instance.

You have to remember that in North America, the last war Canada has had with the US was I believe 1812 (long time ago). We have never had wars and such going on here (geographically). So it is very easy for people here to become disattached to events that happen abroad.

American media does not help either, they censor the flow of dead body images in/out of american households. Americans will feel outraged at say Lacy Peterson death, but this is because of "Oh my God" factor, how could someone in civilized world do something like that. When people are dying all over world in more heinous acts. So death in large amounts is taken in different strides.

You should not be so quick to assume that. Whomever said death and destruction was a good thing anyway? What of the hundreds of thousands of people Saddam and Saddam's military killed over the last 30 years? What of them?

You really don't get it, do you. We aren't there to take over Iraq, we are there to change the region. Too long have the dictators of old been in power. It is about FREEDOM. You know, the same thing the world did for YOUR COUNTRY not all that long ago.

Iraq didn't attack us on 9/11.. They started the war in 91, though, and Saddam's goverment held the Iraqi people under his boot for decades thanks to the inaction of others. Saddam used WMDs on his own people, invaded or enguaged in war with almost every neighbor Iraq has.

The UN (you know, then, right?) authorized military force against Iraq to enforce resolutions passed and did NOTHING.

Who than has won? Nobody. Very noble and christian. I always thought the real christian believe is the love and not the revenge.

These aren't the dark ages and this war isn't one of the Crusades. Get off it.

You tell me EXACTLY when and how he lied to anyone. You forget that we aren't alone in this fight and that our CONGRESS AND SENATE were the ones that authorized the action in Iraq. Perhaps our intelligence was wrong, but there is a VERY big difference between being wrong and a lie.

Iraq had and USED WMDs in the past and there was some evidence that they were trying to build or buy others (see UN inspector reports).

Once you go read Kyoto and realize what it would mean to us from an economic standpoint you can come back and we will discuss it. It was a useless treaty aimed at punishing the US while letting the world's biggest polluters off the hook (Mexico, China, India).
