Who cares? :-)

Doom 3, for all it's fuss was just another FPS. I'd rather play Halo - or Wolfenstein 3D for that matter.

HL2 won't be any different.

I beg to differ. I have played the Half Life 2 beta leak and TRUST ME, just from the leak that was leaked a year ago I can tell this game will be much different.

Before DOOM3 came out I played the beta and was not impressed.

DOOM3 = Dark, closed environments, boring weapons, meant to startle you, no puzzles. After 20 min playing the retail version, I wanted my money back.

Half Life 2 = GREAT storyline, Bright and butiful open environments, fun weapons, funny stuff every once and a while, meant to keep you on the edge of your seat, many puzzles including a level. One in the beta that looked alot of fun was one where there was a control room and platforms that you can control and re-arrange in a certain way to pass through. You can basicly play with the physics in this game. After 60 minutes of playing the leaked version, I still had a lust for more. And of course we cant forget about the wonderful mods that will spawn off of this game. I am licking my chops for a new DoD mod with the HL2 engine ;P

HALO2 is not for the PC and therefore there is no leak but all I know is I have the collectors edition preorder recipt on a platform in the middle of a room with a single spotlight glowing on it and light corus music playing in the background. I often go there to bask in the glory of . . . uhhhh. . . I am just going to stop typing now.

I think your wrong, after seeing the demos in action and checking out the screenies, man this game is gonna rock majorly! Doom3 was a big pile of crap i agree but HL2 has a brilliant storyline, characters, fantastic new engine (see the tech demo!) and coded by the one of the most innovative game houses ever. I would believe the hype on this one! Me and my mates used to play HL1 in the leagues and will again on HL2, there is a reason why more people play on HL (and mods) online than any and every other game combined together (inc all dooms/quakes, etc...)! :D

I hope I am wrong! I've been bored to tears with every game that has come out over the last 5 years. Starcraft was the last good game released IMHO :P

Hi!

I agree. Some time ago i saw some tech demos, and the engine really seems to be fantastic!
btw, will hl2 support mods?
and, is it still the same that makes hl?
Valve / sierra?

Are you kidding?! I cannot imagine the horrible result if you would not be able to mod HL2. And the same people still program HL2 that programmed the first one.
