Hi folks,
In order to give everyone another powerful (and actually enjoyable) alternative to the built in editor, and to help promote PureBasic, fweil and I have just released the official PureBasic v3.40 EditPlus syntax file. At the same time I am writing this, the owner of EditPlus is adding our community's new syntax file to his main web site. I have also contacted Paul. I'm certain he will add it to his amazing PB Resource pages as well. In the meantime, you can download the file directly from my server:

I know that there are others out there, beside myself, using Win98 who are having many aggravating bugs with the new editor v3.42. EditPlus has always been a favorite of mine, and we hope you will enjoy it too. Included with the syntax file are two INI files. You can either overwrite your settings by adding these to your main application directory, or simply open them in a text viewer (EditPlus?) and copy & paste the changes I made. You will find a handy toolbar to launch your help files (change the paths to suit your needs). In addition you will see that I specified some coloring and layout features. We sincerely hope this will give you a head start so that you can begin using EditPlus immediately.

Within your PureBasic editor, simply specify a new tool named 'Send to EditPlus', point to editplus.exe on your system, and add "%FILE" (using quotes) to the argument line. Now you are all set! Click the last toolbar button in EditPlus to send your .pb file to the PureBasic editor. Click the 'Send to EditPlus' option in the tools menu to send your .pb file to EditPlus.
While in EditPlus, I have set up things so that you can simply click a keyword, then press either the PureBasic Help button (located on the custom toolbar), or the Win32.hlp Help File button to launch those docs and automatically search for the word you clicked on. If you don't already have the Win32.hlp file hold out your hand so it can be smacked...

You will be pleased to discover that there are exactly 9,440 keywords and functions included in this syntax file: WinAPI and native PureBasic. Thank fweil for this long list! If anyone ever tells you PureBasic cannot 'do something' show them this huge list, then tell them to hold out their hand.
Enjoy!
