MM Director Xtra Development

Post by swan »

This is more of a general question even though I'm somewhat of a beginer to PB. Has anyone looked into using PB to create Macromedia Director Extras ? A good SDK exists from MM with all examples in C++.

Thought I'd ask before I delve.

My brother asked me to write a Director extra, actually he bought me a geforce fx 5200 card .. Anyway I never wrote the extra, I found the documentation to be to crazy and too hard to work with. Anyway if you get it to work in PB I'll be amazed, that would offer some pretty amazing solutions for Director fans.

Well no harm in trying I guess. Yeah and the docs aren't great but there are plenty of examples.
I'm encouraged because someone wrote a Delphi Xtra writer.

swan I would pay to get a SDK wrapper or skeleton for a xtra in director from PB. I wasn't making fun, it definately is worth the try. And with Mac being supported that could really be a very cool thing ...

Good point about the Mac support now too.
Now all I have to do is find the time ...
