Hi,
I am having a terrible time with the PureBasic editor ever since I installed 3.40. I have tried repeatedly to solve the problem on my own, but now I am desperate and need to pester you guys.
I am editing a large source code with about 2000 lines in it. I scroll down two thirds of the way (for example) and click on a line to edit. As soon as I press the space bar or backspace the entire line I was working on and my cursor are suddenly snapped to the very last line of code! I obviously cannot edit my code at all with this happening.
I am using Win98. I have 444 mbs of free ram. I tried the 3.40 editor, then the 3.42 editor. I unistalled PureBasic and started completely fresh. I tested a copy of a friend's install on my system. I tested this on my second computer that is also Win98 but with a different graphics card completely. I tried changing the preferences in the editor to every combination. In every test the results were exactly the same as the trouble above. Not good.
I just installed the latest service packs for Win98 and the trouble still remains. Is this a horrible Win98 bug? If so, I am pleading with someone to help me find a fix. I have an important project to complete and having to use the Context Editor is annoying and not nearly as productive.
[insert scream here]
Am I the only one with this trouble? Did I win the lottery of misfortune?
Thanks. Take care!
