I discovered a language two days ago.

Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

Hello.

I discovered another language two days ago. It is a shareware. I downloaded it and try. Actually, the price is low.

This unregistered version can do all the things in the registered version , only cannot make an EXE file. I am not so good in programming but I think that Help Information in this software is in detail. This language supports 3D games, Windows API calling and can use with DLL file.

In fact, I think that it may be a rival of PureBasic. Yes....you can search "pure basic" in their forum. PureBasic is mentioned in many posts.

http://www.?????.com/forums/cgi-bin/YaBB.cgi

I have two questions now:

1. Any experienced user can make some tests to compare its speed with PureBasic's speed?

2. Any comment on this language or this software?

Thanks first!

A search for PureBasic returns one single match, from a user mentioning
how he owns PureBasic as well as some other Basics. Another search
for Pure Basic (as an exact phrase) returns no matches, and a third
search for Pure Basic (as all words) returns 3 matches: the first is
the match mentioned above, and the other 2 contain only the word "Basic".

So my conclusion is that your post may be spam for IBasic, especially
considering that you have only made 4 posts to this groups and are
thus not a regular contributor here...

I would have also said:

1.) This is the PureBasic support forum, not the Ibasic support forum so why should any of us run silly tests to compare them? Are they going to pay us for this?

2.) We are not salespeople for Pyxxia but programmers working to try to make a living in PureBasic. other basic advertising in this forum should be banned IMHO.

I agree with you PB

Hey piamoo,

I have purchased both PureBasic and IBasic. Let me know what kind of speed test you want to do and I will see if I can help.

Edit: If exe size matters then PureBasic wins hands down. The smallest exe in IBasic is something like 180KB - 280KB while in PureBasic it is 3 or 4KB.

PB and Fangbest,

Sorry...I don't want to advertise another language. I only want to let users know another language. ( Also let the programmer of PureBasic know. )

In fact, I read a post written by Fred before and I think that he will no mind.

viewtopic.php?t=2197

TheBeck,
Thanks a lot. I think that it is not suitable to talk about another language here.
But I will ask this question in IBASIC's forum later. Byebye..

Danilo,
Oh...if it is an interpreter, I will not ask for speed tests.

Please read this:

Goodbye.

Just do your tests, piamoo - and then compare
speed, exe-size etc...

I think the developer of IBasic doesnt want you
to know that his product compiles to p-code
and gets interpreted at runtime.
He always tried to hide this fact earlier.

Maybe he really changed it to a real compiler now
(he said that for v1.85 or so), but i wouldnt believe
this without indeep testing.

Really good compilers dont make such bloated .EXEs.

Dont be scared by PB and FangBeast -> its a free discussion here !!

Go ahead and test it...

Okay, I made a mistake and only searched the last 7 days, which was
the board's default setting. Sorry!

BUT, having said that, matches 2, 3 and 4 are all anti-PureBasic in
nature... observe:

(2) "Ibasic is better than purebasic".
(3) "Ibasic is miles better than purebasic".
(4) "[...] purebasic [...] [is] generally referred to as [a] 'hobby language'".

Do we really need links here to sites that trash PureBasic with such
propaganda? I don't think so.

Like Fred would say:
Let the user decide whats the better compiler/interpreter. :)

You cant change people and they can
say what they want.
Maybe they dont know better...

I´m still waiting for the speed tests...
should be interesting.

Okay, no problem. But I hope you understand I'm just trying to look
out for PureBasic's best interests, yeah? :)

Free speech - yes, but look at this:

Posting, no. 12:
"I have look into Purebasic. Perhaps i can compress the
memo - datas with PB's Packer - library. I'll create a DLL
with any functions. Look in the original help : "
and
"If it is profitable, i can export the Cipher - library too."
Exporting of the PB libraries as DLLs for other languages isn't allowed !!! (I think.)

If this works, purebasic has verry usefull Network - functions.
these functions can be exported too.
