Atari VCS

Post by griz »

For those with fond memories of the Atari 2600, have a browse through an old site of mine (the cartridge tour in particular) :

2600adventures.atari.org

Some of these old games would make for good Pure Basic 2D mini-game projects. Anyone remember the old osborne hayes books, Computer Space Games, Computer Battle games, etc. ? I think writing similar mini-games in Pure Basic would be a great learning excersize for many. Return of the type in listings!? Hey Krylar, how about it? 100 Pure Basic Space Games with source code for your next book?

Hehe. Most of the games I have written are based on old atari games. My Paraboom game I made in PB was based off an old atari game called "Sky Diver." ;) You can find the game on my website.

But I agree with you. Making modern 2-D mini games out of old 70's games is fun fun fun!

Stella!!! Stelllaaa!!!!

I actually started working on a brand new atari 2600 game over a year ago using a cross-compiler, and a text editor. Got busy and became distracted and sadly the project was lost along the way side.

Maybe a neeto project would be to write an Atari 2600 emulator in PB.

I'd be up for taking a crack at writting a 6502 emulator.
