ogre

Post by thefool »

Hi! When is the new ogre going to be added to pb? I guess the one with shadows arent added yet. 0.14.

But also, who have a link to a working ogre xml to ogre mesh converter?
i know the new one is working, but the ogre that comes with PB is too old.
I got a non working zip file last time. so requesting it again :)

Ogre 0.14.1 has been released. How about a nice little update for Purebasic? It's really a drawback, that we can't use the new mesh format with Purebasic!

Oh, that's good news! I stopped development of my game a year ago, because it's so frustrating waiting for functions to be implemented. Purebasic is progressing very well, so I hope I can continue this year!

Fred will make a buttload of $$$ when 3D support is mature... We all know the OGRE engine is a beautiful thing... Personally, I think it's better than the DarkBasic/Blitz3D engines...
I gave up on DBPro because of nonstop bugs... I can't wait to make some real games in my favorite language! :)

yep thats what i say too :)
now i have learnt PB, i don't want to learn another language.
Of course if i need to learn another language, i will.
but now i dont need it :

But yes, ogre is truly amazing. And its not a lie, the new ogre renders beautifull things. just look at the ogre website.

but as fred said, he's going to make some big changes in the engine. Its going to be great. really cool 8)

Yes, that is exactly what I did! I converted one of my old games (Orb - Amiga/C64) to PureBasic in 2D and started to upgrade it to 3D. Both versions are fully playable, but lot's of nice stuff can't be implemented at the moment. So development stopped this year in march.....
