What if we gave the new PB Demo users a page offering sample apps they could compile to see PB in action for themselves? I downloaded the current 6.30 Demo and tested a couple apps i use frequently and they were small enough to compile as useful tools using the demo.
Sure, we have the https://www.purebasic.com/showcase.php page to illustrate what can be done, But really nothing to illustrate what finished code might look like In the editor, the speed and what it's like to compile and see it launch an app. I'll even go out on a limb to say, I think it would be a good idea to put a direct link on the PureBasic Demo Download web page pointing to this Demo users code page to help them get their feet wet.

I *never* claimed to be a programmer.
Nothing is faster, more stable, or easier to maintain than code that doesn’t exist.

Seventy views and not even one comment. Well Hmmm. I thought it was better than that.Randy Walker wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2026 10:43 pm What if we gave the new PB Demo users a page offering sample apps they could compile to see PB in action for themselves?

Re: What IF PB Demo users... ?
I don't think people have had a chance to answer but most of the examples in the install are sufficient to show what's possible.

This doesn't seem like the right subforum. I'd say, General Discussion would be more suiting.
However, I too think the examples in the help are already enough. More and especially more complex codes could lead to people try things too quickly, before understanding what the code does. Leading to copying and pasting without understanding.
