Edit > Find in files - unnecessarily opens file

Post by Cezary »

This is in PB 6.21 and 6.30b1, Windows and Linux:
executing the "Find in files" operation and clicking on any found place reopens the previously opened file (another tab in the editor). As a result, this causes a problem with the change in the content of a previously opened file, reported by the editor.
If I remember correctly, in earlier editor versions the searched text was pointed to in an already open file and something could be changed without additional actions.

Like a problem I got on Mac…

It seems to need a multi-platform foolproof way to open files properly (not opening another IDE instance or tab…)
I think it "also affects IDE tools"; there are sometimes problems with "PB IDE focus", or instance, or it "kinda hangs", like it should need to flush events before…
Just guessing :)
