Linux Debian 13 (Trixie)

Post by mk-soft »

I have installed the Debian Trixie InRelease RC2 as a VM.
I chose the Cinnamon version as GUI because I like it best.

For PureBasic the Ubuntu 24.04 (linux3) is required.
After installing the developer libraries from my description PureBasic ran right away.

However, the 3d graphics output does not work for me (black or flickering)
This may also be due to my macOS Parallels or still to the RC2, since Firefox also has problems with output for me.

With Mint Linux LMDE (Debian 12) it works although both use the same graphics driver (Red Hat, Inc. Virtio 1.0 GPU).

Conclusion:
Debian 13 runs very well and fast ;)

Grrr… vmware makes my Mac KERNEL PANIC if I restart ubuntu 24.10… (there were no problems on Monterey)

I updated vmware, but this seems to be a sequoia problem… 🤬

Solution: for now, I'll keep ubuntu "unupdated" :)

Since Sequoia I also have sporadic problems with the VM's with Parallels. Rarely gets stuck.
