Did you know this YT trick?
Re: Did you know this YT trick?
Whoa, that's super cool. Thanks for sharing! I just pay for premium to avoid ads, but even just the UI here is nice.

You delude me Quin (I'm kidding: you amaze me!); how comes you didn't know about "ad blockers"?Quin wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 3:31 pm Whoa, that's super cool. Thanks for sharing! I just pay for premium to avoid ads, but even just the UI here is nice.

Oh I do, but they're often ineffective on YouTube and I watch from my phone and/or smart TV 80% of the time anyways.Piero wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 3:59 pm You delude me Quin (I'm kidding: you amaze me!); how comes you didn't know about "ad blockers"?

Please don't talk to me about smartvz and smafonz; we tend to eat decently here in Italy, so I don't want to throw upQuin wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 4:03 pmOh I do, but they're often ineffective on YouTube and I watch from my phone and/or smart TV 80% of the time anyways.

On Windows, I use Firefox with uBlock Origin. Haven't seen a YouTube ad for years, even when they tried to stop uBlock again a month or so ago. Just a quick tweak in uBlock and the ads were gone again.

Re: Did you know this YT trick?

Hm, the domain yout-ube.com is on one of my Blocklists from PiHole: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/RPiLi ... Squatting2
I wonder why
On the other hand I also use Firefox and uBlock Origin since ever. And on my smartphone I don't mind if there is an ad here and there because I don't usually watch videos on it that often. Also there is NewPipe as an alternative to Youtube.

The english grammar is freeware, you can use it freely - But it's not Open Source, i.e. you can not change it or publish it in altered way.
Good news! (I hope)
It's strange: it just redirects to youtube-nocookie (widely used to embed yt on sites).NicTheQuick wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2025 11:33 am Hm, the domain yout-ube.com is on one of my Blocklists from PiHole: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/RPiLi ... Squatting2

PS: Good News! From what I saw, you can install uBlock Origin on firefox android,
and Stands Free Adblocker on safari (ios)
