A french documentary explain well all stuff with anthropocene in our Earth, it feels very scary and fear in our futur for our life too. In underground carrot show us a neat that change as radical of evolution in our Earth.... Hope we can change until it make not too late for us ...
We have already entered the anthropocene. I would say since the 80s at least. After all, once upon a time we poked a giant hole in the ozone layer.
We already have mass extinctions happening right now on top of the man made climate change. We even introduced a brand new problem in the form of microplastics.
And if the word is official or not doesn't matter, that is a pointless argument to make. A lot of words don't "officially exist" and yet their impact upon society is major, eg Memes.
Following this definition anthropocene was entered at least 2000 years earlier. The Romans already cleared up so much forests, this would have an impact on climate as well (though it takes longer than burning fossil fuels). Again, I just wanted to point out, that this word isn't officially recognized by the people who decide whether to be official or not. Nothing more or less.
I really have no doubt climate change is happening and the earth is warming but I don't buy the reasons they hoist upon us.
The Mann hocky stick graph the one that kicked off the inconvenient truth was really just a ploy to create Taxes. It also missed an important variance in actual temperature data that which is required to validate their proxies. Stevenson screen's the standard method of housing temperature and pressure instruments. these are usually placed out in a paddock but over time urbanization has created heat islands around them which naturally increased the temperatures around the weather stations over time. So if you don't account for that which they didn't, it throws your proxies off. I Asked them this question and got a reply from the co author on that paper who said no we didn't consider that and that it was a valid point to consider.
Seriously a basic text book will show you that the CO2 IR transparency of the atmosphere blocks <2% of out going IR, methane <15% and water vapor <70% ,CO2 isn't the primary cause of warming it's all the pollutants that go with that are the issue and while the Eco warriors cry out stop emitting CO2 and pay taxes while flying around in their private jets to their next summit meeting they emit way more pollutants than your old banger ever would over a million miles and worse they put it in the stratosphere, we've all been conned to ditch our old bangers for more efficient and new electric bangers that go woof in a ball of flames when the batteries short out and the fact is the amount of CO2 produced to make your old banger is likely 10x more than what you'd produce driving it around for 20 years until it died. It's a very inconvenient truth and now they're on to fart taxes, when there's 1000x more methane being naturally emitted from the ocean and tundra from the warming than all the cows in the world, yet they want to tax it. clean up the particulates, the condensation nuclei, SO2, NO3, CFC's but spare me the CO2 myth that it's primary cause of global warming it's just incidental, the real driver is water vapor condensing around all the pollutants we've produced and dispersed.
CO2 is more harmful to the ocean life than it is to us or in the atmosphere and as the ocean absorbs the CO2 acidifying it, the shell forming crustations won't be able to make their shells and then the food chain brakes down which supports 2 billion fish eaters that pillage the sea.
We're already screwed, we just don't know it and wait till the micro plastics become nano scale and biologically active!
I drive an electric scooter!
I have a solar powered computer!
and I fart in the bath, amen!
I wanted to enforce (but also criticize some of) what Idle said with some crazy stuff, e.g., we could avoid toxic chemicals (plastics, medicinals…)
just by using vegetal Bob Marley stuff…
Unless you're in some forest hunting what you eat you're in on it.. I've noticed nobody seems to have a problem with development and clearing forests; especially people who are frequently vocal on ecology problems yet live in sub-divisions and apartments and vaccum down whatever cost-cutting franchises have to offer; oh and everything they wear and use is made by forced labor in "exploit countries"..
The truth is a asteroid will likely take care of the problem long before humans. You have the taurid meteor stream and deep space events to thank for that. Estimates say every 100,000,000 years but just short of 13,000 years ago younger dryas happened that was only a estimated 1km asteroid, and only 1,800 years after bolling-allerod interstadia started.. Anything over 25m makes it through Earth's atmosphere; there are ONLY an estimated 14 asteroids in the taurid stream alone 1km or larger... We pass though it twice a year..
That being said.. I'm just glad I lived in multiple countries before over-development happened.. I don't think there is any winning against indifferent glutton culture and you'll likely see the same trend on Mars.. Sub-divisions and franchise filled strip malls will cover everthing till something ends Earth likely within 300 years because scaling of industrialization and automation..

The worst is that there are still traces of uranium and plutonium in nature due to the H bomb in 1952 was launched ...
Other are cities and industrial that caused a lot of climate change
We need to look at nature how it recycles we must do the same instead of destroying and wasting on pollution...
Before the first fission bomb tests there was trace uranium in soil. It's naturally occurring. Fission and fusion weapons have had plenty of effects elsewhere, though.. They are really only rationally used for energy and propulsion and analysis..
Everything talked about in this thread is based on classism and indifference. It's in every country. Every country a person making one dollar or euro more has some level of bias or shaming to the lesser paid, and it's usually got little to do with the 0.1%-6.2% of the 1,000,000+ citizens. Whichever country you live in, the typical person with more is indifferent, and in a lot of cases even motivated to widen the gap due to classism and resources..
I've lived and worked in eight different countries and there was classism and greed and social-regulation in every single one.. In India and most of Asia they don't even hide it with political correctness..
