Forum Bugs Section Lost a Lot

Post by fsw »

The Linux, macOS and C backend sections lost a lot of entries...

I am to provide the public with beneficial shocks.

Where do the posts go when they are fixed or otherwise addressed? There tends to be more than one post about the same issue. Out of the last two PureBasic releases one dealt primarily with MacOS fixes and one with Linux fixes.

Well, if you look at other sections (like Bugs - Windows) they go back all the way to 2007/2008 time frame.

When a bug is fixed Fred adds Done to the subject.
Also, because we can look back and see if a bug we find ourselves was already mentioned we can avoid double posting.

Maybe it's a database issue or Fred thought of cleaning up the house... that's why I asked.

Indeed, the bug forums only have not fixed bugs. Once a bug is fixed and the new version is released, then there are moved to an hidden bug fixed section. We list all the fixed bug in the release topic of you need to track some.

"Fixed" is a courageous word, considering the multiplatform complexity of this all…

I'm accustomed to get skepticism whenever I report "bugs" on this forum, since the beginning, anyway I would start with (Mac):
Why doesn't menu flash e.g. when I paste?
Why the shortcut ⌥/ is shown on menu as ⌥D?
Why cannot I paste into e.g. a file save requester?
Edit: Strangely, the menu flashes if you ⌘V on a save dialog, but the only way to paste is using right/control click (Monterey)
…………

You know Fred I'm your Fan…

Hope this will be useful:

There are some "reserved/standard" shortcuts on mac, like:
⌘H    ⌥⌘H     ⌘?

On open/save dialogs, you can e.g. ⌘D to go to desktop (it works on PB, but ⌘V does not…)

Good point! At the moment, this is no longer possible, and the History doesn't always list which bugs are fixed.
