Hello Folks!

Since last December I have been focusing on my Conquest II Game. Focused may be an understatement, my wife tells me I've been obsessed (12-16 Hours 7 days a week).

My goal is a "BETA" Release out in the End of Month. So what is it? I call it "Conquest II", It is what I had hoped "Space Empires IV" would have been.

It is a 4X Turn-Based Grand Strategy - Galactic Conquest Game written entirely in PureBasic.

All Graphics are of my own design, with the exception of Components Images & Factories Images for which I used Space Empires III, Ship sets are heavily modified but source to Space Empires III as-well. Sadly I am NOT an Artist.

Codebase Exceeds 133,000 lines of code, which includes roughly 8-12,000 lines of custom Modules., I've been testing it now for roughly 2 Months, and it is going quite well. In my current Game (Turn 56) I have a Partnership Alliance with the other Evil Player and Testing out Espionage on the Good Player, I've just spread plague on some of his planets. In this Game I'm wanting to Additionally test Planet Landings, Military Alliance, and hopefully test large fleet Combat, and begin to gauge AI Aggressiveness. (All have been unit tested independently) and I am continuously adding to Diplomacy.

This has been the single largest project I've ever undertaken, and Its almost Complete. There are SO Many inner-related moving and changing items.
As I have said I am hopeful to have it's first release by End Of Month, I will not release it until it's right.

The Game Features and Highlights:

Each Game consists of: 1 Galaxy with Up to 60 Solar Systems (18 x 18 grid of 36 x 36 pixels)
Four to Six Planets in every System - Generated from Six different Atmosphere's, Five Planet Sizes, Multiple Planet Rings, and Five planet Resource categories

Planet Population Happiness/Unrest must be managed with Work/Life balance
Individual Planets Rotate, and Revolve around their sun's in numerous configurations
Colonized Planets may have Indigenous Species to deal with
Ancient Artifacts to be explored
13 Racial Advantages
Player Starting Technologies
1+ (hot seat) Human Player and Up to 5 Computer Players per game
3 AI Difficulty Levels that do NOT Cheat.
200 + Research Items & Levels

Many Ship Sizes: Scout, Frigate, Destroyer, Lt. Cruiser, Cruiser, Battle Cruiser, Battle Ship, Dreadnaught, Battle Station, Space Station, Starbase, Colony, Lt Carrier, Carrier, Heavy Carrier, Small Transport, Medium Transport, Large Transport
4 Ship movement Settings
All ships are Custom designed, though have certain requirements, Bridge, Life Support, Weapons (Beams, Torpedoes, Blasters, Missiles), Weapons Control, Shields, Cargo Containers, Security, Boarding, and many many more
24 Sets of Ship designs to choose from

Ship to Ship (Fleet) Combat Screen
Planet Bombarding, and Planet Troop Landings

Spy Espionage between Players including Spreading Plagues, Sabotage, Disrupt Populations, Gather Intel
Diplomacy Between Players
Four player Alliances are possible, Non-Aggression, Trade Alliance, Partnership Alliance, and Military Alliance
Player Alignment gets modified based on player decisions and actions
AI that does NOT cheat !

You can control EVERYTHING manually or Configure Empire Ministers to assist you in the game play you do not want to mess with.
No Minister for Diplomacy (Lots of humor there), or Combat.

Windowed Graphic screen for smooth Ship movement and Animations
55 + Database tables
100 + Windows/Screens
1000 + Animations

Single Game File, Linked by Extension to Executable

+ Exposed back end, with menu's and Screens for System Modifications.

Conquest II

My Goal was End of Month (today), but I am not quite there. Sorry.
Almost everything is fully operational, exceptions are Fighters in Combat, Tweaking Aggressiveness of AI players.
Another few days - week. I've released products before too early and I don't want to do this here....This is way too cool.

Nice! These type of games can have be really fun to play even with simple graphics.
