hello ,I have downloaded the 5.00 compatibal source file from backup of RSbasic.de ,but I couldn't compile it ,I'm sorry I am a newbie .the old jaPBE flickers on Win10, could somebody please uploaded a 5.0+ compiled binary ?
You need PB3.9x to compile the "old Japbe" 2.9 from gpi, and this one can compile the other ones.... But only PB3.9x ....

"5.0+ Compiled binary jaPBE". I have it and use it, but only good for 32 bit
Sorry to bump this old post but I am really hoping to get a working compiled copy of 64bit JaPBe. I've looked at the code and it is so far over my head, I have no clue how to go about compiling it myself. I tried and tried but hit error after error, missing constant problems, duplicate structures and other stuff. I do use JaPBe now but only good for 32bit PB v5.xx, and of course v6.xx is out of the question, which is very unfortunate for me.

Hey,
I read a lot about jaPBE when I started with PureBasic. But nowadays....
Maybe I am curious now and will see what it is all about.
What are the main features of jaPBE, that the latest version of PB-IDE does not have?
Where do I find the latest code?
Actually not sure if this will be worth it or only waste time.......
Just because it worked doesn't mean it works. PureBasic 6.04 (x86) and <latest stable version and current alpha/beta> (x64) on Windows 11 Home. Now started with Linux (VM: Ubuntu 22.04).
More advanced search and F1 topical help. also does folding on enumeration blocks. probably a few other things I don't recall off hand.
I have Gnozal's "jaPBeForPB400" source files and "jaPBeForPB400_3910.exe" self extracting archive for pre-compiled install into existing v4.x/v5.x PB installation folder (32bit only). Just not sure how to share it with you. Suggestions?

Folding on every Keyword you want : Preferences -> Folding
Other things you can do with IDE Tools... There are a lot of them
So I think its more a waste of time to bring the oldtimer on the road again ...

Ok, I see it and get it now. Fixed my Enumerations and Structures so they fold now. Thanks!!!
JaPBe also gives a picklist of markers, although does not actually show a marker like the native PB IDE so that kinda sucks. I do like the way PB IDE lets you remove all markers in one shot where JaPBe does not. Guess maybe its time for me to take a more serious look at the PB IDE.

I looked into producing an updated version of jaPBe about 12 years ago and actually had some brief conversations with gnozal before he 'disappeared'. At about that time I had a compilable version for I believe PB version 4.73 and proceeded to explore improvements. Needless to say, PureBasic changed a bit and I experienced a variety of life changes affecting available time.
You've given me some motivation to again bring the code to a working state and to address the improvements I also delayed. I'm still limited on time but I have the advantage of having made meticulous notes of the process of updating the code and hope to bring myself up to speed relatively quickly. And yes, I know that I could instead devote time to making improvements to PureBasic's current IDE instead. While that may be true, I still want to bring the old-timer along to see PureBasic's future and where it may still serve as an example and test ground for ideas.
thank you for your comments.
I think I agree with Bisonte, it's too late to re-saddle this old horse.
Maybe 'nice' features of jaPBE could be integrated into the open source PB IDE?
You would have to know them for that?

.... Suggestions?
No, I didn't. Sorry. --- Second thought: Today the answer would be GIT... (but I'm not familiar with it.)
@Demivec:
How would you publish this?

"folding on every Keyword you want" << What does that mean? Sounds crazy.
Look in this help file link under 'Editor - folding': Thanks for that link Demivac. I really need to study the updated IDE. Obviously some nice improvements in there

Just compilimng for 64bit would be a great enhancement. I tried but the source is just so far over my head, there's no way I could figure out the errors I encountrered trying to compile Gnozal's source code.

I followed the path to RSBasic's Archives... and found a executable file.
Due to my own rules, I never actually run an (unknown) exe file on my computer. Call it paranoia if you like....... (And thanks, I don't need any tips regarding sandboxie and stuff like that. )
I have decided that I'll wait and see what Demivec publishes in the future.

I have Lots of exe's from people I don't know personally. One of them being compiled JaPBe. I only risk trusting apps from unknown people that have a proven reputation, Like Gnozal, for one. Few others here on PB forum and a wide array on the web. So far my gut feeling has not let me down and I do enjoy using Many very powerful freeware apps. All without antivirus is a virus software.
Funny how many people trust McAfee and all the other Russian viral freewares without knowing the actual creators behind them. You probably one of them, paranoid as you are. Don't get me wrong -- Good to be paranoid because they are out to get you, without a doubt.
