I've been gathering quite abit of code over time and it's now getting hard to organize it.
Does anyone know of a
FREE program that can help organizing my codes?
Would be great if it had syntax highlighting too, but hey, can't always have it all. And support for more languages would be cool too.
Anyone have any tips, links and suggestions?
Appreciate it

There's one on purearea.net made by Ricardo I think. Try the download section, developer tools.
If you paint your butt blue and glue the hole shut you just themed your ass but lost the functionality.

I've tried that.
But it doesn't have alot of features and to be honest don't seem like a secure way of storing codes.
Hope I didn't offend the author. Nice app actually

I found a pretty nice little app here:
gbCodeLib and it is freeware. My favorite

My firewall catches it trying to sneak out on every launch.. I tell it no..
I don't like when people do that. Here's the site its communicating with::
catalog.midwesttowers.com:http
Apparently it can send the snippets to and from, your system..
Code: Select all
gbCodeLib and its source code snippets may be updated online.
looks nice though..

I just have dozens of little *.pb files with snippets in a folder, with meaningful
filenames. Nice and quick to get them, with no need to install any apps.

My method supports this, too.

That's how I do it..
But I'm considering kicking off an organizer.
I've got a killer name too.. (laughing as I type this)

Seriously, what's wrong with just double-clicking a *.pb file to get a snippet?

Nothing wrong with that if you like it simple and hard to organize.
I have been organizing my own code in a similar manner, but it is not an effective way of organizing. You HAVE to admit that.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I find it easy and effective.

Yeah, agree with you there.
I remember testing one program a few years ago which was really good but I can't remember it's name
Well, I'll keep on Googling for it *S*
