Problem reading serial data on macOS

I have problems reading serial data on macOS.
My code, which worked for many years, get into trouble. The last working C Compiler is 6.0.3.
If I use 6.0.4 the read process is 5 times slower. The same problem is on PB 6.10.
macOS Catalina 10.15.7
