Repeated ReadAsciiCharacter() at ReadCharacter(#File,#PB_Ascii) ?

I have seen it is repeated command ReadAsciiCharacter(#File), which may be it should be deprecated because the existence of:
ReadCharacter(#File,#PB_Ascii)

Am i wrong or something?
